Campaign Objective

Build your hereafter today by waqf a copy of the Qur’an to Muslims in Maradi city, Niger. The proceeds will be used to distribute 300 copies of the Qur’an to families.

Story

Situated in West Africa, Niger stands as a captivating nation, embodying a rich fusion of history, culture, and natural splendor. It shares borders with Libya to the northeast, Chad to the east, Nigeria to the south, Benin and Burkina Faso to the southwest, Mali to the west, and Algeria to the northwest.

Niger's estimated population hovers around 24 million people. The country boasts a diverse tapestry of ethnic groups, with the largest being the Hausa, Zarma-Songhai, and Tuareg. Other significant ethnic communities include the Fulani, Kanuri, and Toubou.

French serves as the official language, while various indigenous languages also thrive throughout the nation.

Religious diversity flourishes in Niger, with a multitude of faiths practiced across the land. The majority of Nigeriens adhere to indigenous African beliefs, alongside a notable presence of Christianity.

Islam in Niger

Islam holds prominence in Niger, particularly among communities concentrated in the central and southern regions of the country. Introduced through trade networks, Islam has deeply woven itself into the cultural tapestry of these areas. Nigerien Muslims predominantly follow Sunni Islam, with mosques serving as vital hubs for worship, learning, and communal engagement.

Approximately 90% to 95% of Niger's population is estimated to be Muslim, with Islam exerting a significant influence, particularly in regions like Maradi and Zinder, where the majority of Muslims reside.

Fund Needed

Itthad Niger is aiming to raise RM 6,000 in order to provide a copy of the Qur’an for each household at a minimum. It is our hope that this will help to further boost the literacy of the words of ALLAH among whole families in the community.

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him): The messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: sadaqah jariyah (ceaseless charity); knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him” (Muslim).

The proceeds of this campaign will be used to sponsor 300 Qurans to be distributed to families in Maradi city, Niger.

Imagine your rewards with ALLAH when an entire family learns from the Qur’an and practices it throughout their lives Insha’Allah.

Waqf a copy of the Qur’an today and spread the word of ALLAH. May it be accepted as a Sadaqah Jariyah for you – Ameen.
